SCHOLA CANTORUM

The Schola Cantorum is dedicated to helping our parish community rediscover the beauty of Gregorian Chant and Sacred Polyphony within the liturgy. We strive to create a new appreciation for this ageless music through an emphasis on beauty of tone and technical excellence.  “The Church recognizes Gregorian Chant as being specially suited to the Roman Liturgy and sees it as uniquely the Church’s own music serving as a living connection with our forebears in the faith throughout the centuries.” (USCCB, Sing to the Lord #72)  The Schola Cantorum leads us in praying Solemn Vespers every 1 st Friday at 6PM in the Chapel and also serves as the choir at various masses so that this important music will be experienced by all members of the community.
