RELIGIOUS EDUCATION

Students are taught by catechists who donate their time and talent to the children in our Parish. The ministry of a catechist is to be a witness of the faith by proclaiming Christ’s message, developing community, leading people to worship and prayer and motivating them to serve others.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL (VBS)

Vacation Bible School (VBS) is held for one week every summer, usually the last week in June, Monday-Friday, 9 A.M. - 12 P.M..  Kids in grades K-5 can attend, and we use a lot of kids grades 6-12 as helpers.  We use a Catholic curriculum developed especially for VBS and approved by the diocese.  The same VBS curriculum is offered at several other Catholic Churches in our diocese, so if you are on vacation the week of our VBS, you could check with us and we can contact another area Catholic Church and try to get your kids in there.
The best things about VBS are the kids excitement for learning about God and having fun while doing so.  And, the older kids in grades 6-12 add so much to this with their leadership and creativeness.  Finally, for parents and other adults that help, it is a great chance to meet other families and the simple but powerful lessons taught to the kids really do sink in with us, too!
