MARRIAGE ENCOUNTER

Marriage Encounter (ME) at St. Elizabeth’s consists of inviting couples to attend one of the Worldwide Marriage Encounter weekends held during the year in English or Spanish.  The ME weekend is for Catholic (and non-Catholics) desiring a richer, fuller marriage. As follow-up, to support Encountered couple's faith journey and family life, monthly Circle gatherings are held on the fourth Friday of each month at 7:30 pm., except during HS football season when day is shifted. Marriage enrichments/potlucks are also sponsored by ME during the year and are open to married, engaged, or seriously dating couples. ME couples may also serve as weekend prayer couples, presenters, and cooks, Or, couples may host or present at Circles or help put on special events.

RCIA

RCIA is a process by which adults are initiated into the Catholic Church. It is a step-by-step process involving instructions in the Catholic faith and certain rituals. Sessions are held on Thursdays from 7 p.m. until 8:45 p.m. starting on the first Thursday in September and ending around Pentecost Sunday. The Rite of Acceptance is celebrated on the first Sunday of Advent, the Rite of Election on the first Sunday of Lent, and administration of the Sacraments at the Easter Vigil.

The program is open to anyone wishing to join the Catholic Church through baptism or the profession of faith, or anyone who wishes to complete the Christian Initiation by receiving the Sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist. Those who are practicing Catholics who wish to enrich their faith are also invited. There are also opportunities for them to be sponsors to the candidates who are on their journey of faith. If you need more information,

ADULT CONFIRMATION

An offshoot of RCIA, Adult Confirmation is the formation program for adult Catholics who have been baptized and have receiver first Communion, but have yet to receive Confirmation. The program runs in conjunction with RCIA, Thursdays at 7 pm.

SCRIPTURE STUDY

Seeking to develop a deeper understanding of God’s Word in Scripture through reading and reflection, small group discussion, video, lecture, and prayer. Each program focuses on a particular book of the Bible.

We meet for about an hour and a half in the RE building. (Two groups: Wednesday mornings, 10:30 am, or Wednesday evenings, 7 pm). No previous study of the bible required. Due to today’s busy schedules, regular attendance is desirable, but all are welcome to attend whenever possible.

Evenings - Pete Brunet at 512-310-7932 or Bill Gee at 512-990-8533
